Comedy is a terrific learning medium. Comedy is exciting and fun. Even recalcitrant students love to do comedy; because comedy is 'rock 'n roll', comedy is 'cool'!
Usually for pupils from Year 2 upwards.

Our work with comedy involves an improvisatory approach. Learning with comedy and improvisation is effective in developing a range of valuable qualities:
- confidence
- self-esteem
- healthy assertiveness
- self-expression
- communication
- imagination and creativity
- teamwork and co-operation

Comedy and improvisation can also provide a medium for exploring all kinds of educational and life issues such as behaviour, inclusion, bullying, stereotypes, dating, … and a whole range of other social issues. All work can be geared to the individual needs of a school, college or student group.

Example projects and goals:
- to have a go at being a comedian as a learning experience
- to develop a comedy project over a period, with others
- to create a comedy show for performance for a class or school - or parents

This might mean a one-off half-day workshop, a full day or a series of weekly or fortnightly sessions that build and enable pupils to work on ideas in between.

Students and pupil can experiment with a variety of different comedy genres such as:
- stand-up
- monologue
- story-telling
- sketches
- sitcom
- music
- mime
- comic verse
