Example project

'Your Story' was a project run by Positive Comedy with Theatre Paradiso, for West Sussex Youth Offending Team ISSP programme. A similar programme has been run for Springboard PRU in Lancing, West Sussex.

Participants created stories with varying degrees of autobiographical content, then recorded these on video and edited the results into a film on DVD

Gerry Thompson also ran comedy workshops on a 6 week summer school for East Sussex's ISSP programme.

 

Work with offenders

Positive Comedy runs comedy based projects
working in co-ordination with Youth Offending
Teams and other professionals.

These projects can focus on such outcomes as
developing self-esteem, communication, confidence,
self-expression, co-operation and groupwork, and
processing issues related to offending behaviour.

Gerry Thompson has completed the UK Unit for Arts
and Offenders/ Anne Peaker Centre training course
for arts-based practitioners.

An example project is Leggsy Gets a Break, an exciting
project for live interactive theatre and radio, jointly with Company Paradiso.
